Port Edward, Port Edward
Port Edward is the southern most town in KwaZulu-Natal and borders the Eastern Cape Province and as with most of the KZN Lower South Coast it has been a favourite holiday destination for seasonal visitors from the interior of the country.
In 1925 the original village was laid out and was named in honour of HRH The Prince of Wales, who later became HRH King Edward VIII.
Port Edward is bordered by the breathtaking Umtamvuna River gorge, and the tourist is treated to such diverse attractions as Beaver Creek Coffee Farm & Roastery, the Wild Coast Sun Casino & Resort and a host of other art & craft related places of interest.
When you add to this a host of truly magnificent beaches and coves, it is apparent why this has been a favourite destination of genration of South Africans.
With the N2 highway through to East London scheduled to run through the Transkei, Port Edward is soon to see unprecedented growth in the short term and a place for wise property investment.
