We’re delighted to introduce Nicole Brown as the new Branch Manager of Wakefields Umhlanga.
Nicole has been part of the Wakefields family since 2018, and while this is a new role, she is a very familiar face within the business. A qualified Advocate of the High Court, Nicole brings a rare and powerful combination of legal expertise, leadership experience, and a genuine passion for people.
Over the past decade, Nicole has built and delivered accredited training programmes, designed engaging e-learning content, and managed complex compliance portfolios, always with one goal in mind: helping people learn, grow, and feel confident in what they do.
At Wakefields, she has worn many hats, including Training Manager, FICA Compliance Officer, Employment Equity Manager and Facilitator, supporting teams across the business to stay compliant while performing at their best.
Nicole believes that training (and leadership) work best when they are human, engaging and relevant. Known for her ability to turn complex regulations into practical, real-world action, she combines her legal background with creativity, storytelling and a deep understanding of people. The result? Learning experiences that stick, confidence that grows, and teams that feel supported rather than overwhelmed.
As Branch Manager, Nicole’s focus is firmly on people, service, and strong relationships. She believes successful branches are built on teamwork, consistency, and creating an environment where both clients and consultants feel welcome, supported, and valued. She is excited to get to know Umhlanga’s clients, become part of the local community, and lead the branch with the same energy and integrity she brings to everything she does.
Outside of work, Nicole is just as dynamic. She plays hockey, practises ballet, and serves on the board of her local pre-primary school. Learning and leadership are part of her DNA, whether it’s in a classroom, a boardroom, or on the field.
Nicole takes over from Myles Wakefield, who stepped in as Branch Manager following Joy Thorpe’s retirement, and we thank him for his leadership and support during this transition.
Please feel free to pop into the Wakefields Umhlanga branch to say hello. Nicole is looking forward to meeting you and leading the branch into its next exciting chapter.
